At Midwest Flag Football Tournaments our goal is to provide Safe, Fun, and Competitive tournaments. Our number one goal is to make sure we have safe tournaments and that’s why at all our tournaments we will have on-site medical staff.

Our second goal is to make sure all kids have a good time no matter how their team does. Flag Football is a great sport to play to enhance your football skills. It’s a great way to improve QB, RB, WR, CB, S, and LB skills.

For those teams that are entering a Midwest Tournament for the first time here are some things to help prepare you for your upcoming tournament. First, please understand the rules and style of play may be different than your league play. These tournaments are open to all teams no matter what type of league you are in or if your team does not belong to a league. Our rules are based on the NFL Flag Tournament rules with some minor tweaks.

Expect a very tough tournament and don’t get discouraged on how you do in your first tournament. At these tournaments, there will be teams from many different states and some of these teams have been together for a long time. This is an opportunity for your team to be challenged and play against a competition you may have never played against.

Here are some tips for new teams:

  1. When building your team try to get the oldest kids you can that fit in that specific age division. For example, if you plan to play in the 8U division almost all kids that are 2nd graders qualify for that division but don’t look for just 2nd graders, there might be 3rd graders that fit the age requirement for the 8U division as well because remember it’s based on birth year.
  2. Make sure you have enough players. The minimum is 5 kids but kids are going to need breaks and players could potentially have any injuries. There is no player max per team but there will only be 12 awards handed out.  On average most teams have 8 players.
  3. Make sure to only have 2 coaches. We will only allow 2 coaches on the sidelines.
  4. Make sure you read the rule book thoroughly before signing your team up and feel free to email us with any questions. Coaches, please try to make the scheduled coaches call so we can get all your questions answered and so you have a good idea of all details of the tournament.
  5. Entering your team: You will need to have someone either head coach or another person to be the Club Admin to enter your team. You do not need to have all players and all details of your team completed before entering the tournament. Check each tournament as they might have a save your spot deposit so you can enter your team and details of players later.
  6. Once your team is entered there is a Parent/Player link you can copy and paste to all the parents of your players. The parents are responsible for entering all required info about their child so their child is eligible for the team and tournament.
  7. Player Cards are required and used for player eligibility. It is a one-time fee for the year and will be good for a full year for any tournaments that use Zorts Sports. Team Coaches & Admins you will be able to see who is eligible and who is not on your team. We ask for you to please stay on top of your player’s eligibility.
  8. All tournaments will be using Zorts Sports app so you can follow the tournament. We encourage all coaches and parents to download the free app so all can track the tournament.
  9. Club Admins/Coaches/ Parents if you are having issues with Zorts Sports please contact support@zorts.zohodesk.com.
  10. MOST OF ALL HAVE FUN AND GO GET IT!
